Hachiko- The Symbol of Loyalty

Hi friends! Here I am with another brand new post for cute little pups. I guess that many of you might be familiar with the name “Hachiko”. But for those who are not, here’s the story. Hachiko is one of the most loyal dogs that this planet has seen these many years. He is the true symbol of loyalty. He was the one who brought fame to the dogs’ community.

The Birth of Hachiko
Hachiko was a dog who belonged to the breed Akita. He was born in Japan in November 1923. As he was born as the eighth pup of the litter he was named Hachiko. In Japanese, Hachi means eight and Ko means prince. So, literally it means the eighth prince. Hachiko is remembered for the remarkable loyalty that he showed towards his master Hidesaburō Ueno who was a professor in the University of Tokyo.

Weird habit, ain’t it?
Hachiko was taken by Hidesaburō Ueno in the year 1924. The owner and his pet had a weird habit. Hachiko used to greet his master at the Shibuya Station as he returned from his work every evening. This eventually turned out to be a daily routine for both of them. But all of a sudden Hidesaburō Ueno died due to cerebral hemorrhage while he was at work. This happened in May, 1925. Just like the other days Hachi was waiting at the Shibuya Station for his master’s return. But he never knew that he wasn’t gonna come back. Right from that day Hachiko started to wait in the station for nine consecutive years until his death in 1935.
It is even said that Hidesaburō Ueno’s family had given away Hachiko after the professor’s death. But the loyalty of this wonderful dog was such that it escaped from all of it and waited for his true master at the station’s gate.

Hachiko- An Inspiration
Hachiko is an inspiration for all of us. He has taught us how to be loyal to those who shower love up on us. The love he had for his master was the reason behind his long wait at the Shibuya Station for years together. Hachiko is a symbol of determination. All his life he was determined to wait for his master’s return and he never gave up. He brought pride and glory to the Akitas. For those who see dogs as a menace, Hachiko is a lesson. Man is the best friend for dogs. If you have a dog at home, the love he has for you will be seen in his very eyes. Every time he wags his tail, he tries to tell you that he loves you dearly. So give your heart and soul to your dog. There’s none who can be loyal to you more than him!
